"By the River" shows how far Yeston can travel on that stream. At once tightly structured and sweepingly expansive, the song sets its aching melody loose over a shimmering, unsettled piano current. The singer (a ravishing Christine Andreas) first observes and then becomes the river, in this meditation on death, longing and eternity. This is song making of a very high order."

- Steven Winn, San Francisco Chronicle

The Maury Yeston Songbook

Christine is one of the featured performers on the newly released The Maury Yeston Songbook CD.  Christine sings one track, "By the River" from December Songs.

"You never know when you approach a song what it is that will move you and enable you to really give it life....  When I first heard this hypnotic song and orchestration, it was the rhythm.  Once I let the insistent, swirling rhythm of 'River' seduce me, my voice went its way, and I just let it be."

- Christine Andreas, The Maury Yeston Songbook liner notes
